Almost all of the big time bloggers online are using Wordpress on their blog. WordPress is a free and open source blog publishing application.

I will not focus more on the topic about the installation of wordpress since it is very easy to install Wordpress if you follow my recommendation on “How to Build Your Own Website”.

The following are my recommendation on Wordpress Plugin. I thoroughly research other’s blog on what they are using. So you must use these also.

• All in One SEO Pack – Out-of-the-box SEO for your Wordpress blog.
• Contact Form 7 – Just another contact form plugin. Simple but flexible.
• Google Analyticator – Adds the necessary JavaScript code to enable Google’s Analytics.
• Google XML Sitemaps – This plugin will generate a sitemaps.org compatible sitemap of your WordPress blog which is supported by Ask.com, Google, MSN Search and YAHOO.
• Gurken Subscribe to Comments – Subscribe to Comments with Double-Opt-In.
• Limit Posts – Limits the displayed text length on the index page entries and generates a link to a page to read the full content if it’s bigger than the selected maximum length.
• Nofollow Reciprocity – Searches for links to large sites using ‘nofollow’ tags for external links, and puts the same tag on links to those sites (Wikipedia.org, StumbleUpon.com, and similar) Added top 1000 sites from Quantcast.com. This plugin is based on Wikipedia nofollow and Identify External Links.
• Post-Plugin Library – Does nothing by itself but supplies common code for the Similar Posts, Recent Posts, Random Posts, and Recent Commentsplugins. Make sure you have the latest version of this plugin.
• Random Posts – Displays a highly configurable list of randomly selected posts. Instructions and help online. Requires the latest version of thePost-Plugin Library to be installed.

• Top Level Categories – Removes the prefix from the URL for a category. For instance, if your old category link was /category/catname it will now be/catname.

• Yet Another Related Posts Plugin – Returns a list of related entries based on a unique algorithm for display on your blog and RSS feeds. A templating feature allows customization of the display.
